Megaphobema robustum
Megaphobema robustum
Megaphobema robustum is a very large spider (up to 9 cm long) and has a very beautiful color.
They can often be seen outside their den, but will quickly run back in at the slightest disturbance. A lot of soil is important, as they like to dig up the terrarium.
The terrarium should always have a damp corner and a drinking bowl. They are absolutely voracious animals that pounce on their prey, especially when they are young, so much so that they sometimes roll over.
It is a very fearful species that flees at any disturbance and is also quick to bomb. In addition, it has another defense strategy that is quite strange for tarantulas.
In Megaphobema robustum, the fourth pair of legs is barbed and allows the spider to defend itself with effective kicks with these legs. To do this, she moves up and down and then jerks her legs out towards an attacker.
In their first feeding skin they are already 1-1.5cm tall.
