Brachypelma hamorii
Brachypelma hamorii
The classic among tarantulas!
A mostly very calm tarantula that everyone has probably seen somewhere. A terrarium with the minimum dimensions of 30x30x30cm is sufficient as the animals do not move around much.
Brachypelma hamorii (red-knee tarantula) is a ground-dwelling species, which is why the substrate height should be at least 5cm. Cork bark offers a good hiding place. A bowl to absorb water should not be missing. A corner with moss is helpful to maintain humidity. If they feel threatened, the animals can “bomb” with their stinging hairs.
Brachypelma hamorii is a great carer for both beginners and advanced growers.
